EVBox installs charging systems with Kingspan

EVBox Group will supply Kingspan with just over 60 AC and DC charging stations to help the building materials manufacturer convert its corporate fleet to electric vehicles. The installation project will begin in the UK and Ireland before expanding to other regions.

Kingspan is a provider of insulation solutions for buildings based in Ireland. The company aims to convert its entire fleet to zero-emission powertrains by 2025. To build charging infrastructure at office and manufacturing sites, Kingspan has now signed an agreement with EVBox.

The Dutch company will initially install a good 60 AC and DC charging stations at Kingspan’s so-called IKON Innovation Center and global headquarters in Ireland. For this purpose, EVBox will be installing the Troniq 50, BusinessLine (in the dual version) and Iqon chargers. The former is a DC solution, while the other two are AC units. While the Iqon is a charging point with a touch screen and fixed charging cables, the BusinessLine is a very reduced charging point without a display, mostly mounted in one place. Kingspan will also provide Elvi-type devices for its employees to charge their e-service cars at home.

“Kingspan is a company that actually practices sustainable work practices instead of just preaching them. I’m happy to say that EVBox is helping Kingspan to reach its goal of transitioning their company fleet to zero-emission cars, with our expertise in every area of EV charging—be it regular AC or fast DC charging—allowing us to make EV charging as easy as possible for Kingspan’s corporate drivers,” says Jonathan Goose, Regional Director UK & Ireland at EVBox

“EVBox’s extensive offering of charging solutions allows us to install different charging stations tailored to our needs at our offices and 159 global manufacturing sites. Not only are we able to place charging stations at Kingspan locations, but we can also provide our drivers with EVBox residential charging stations for their homes,” points out Bianca Wong, Global Head of Sustainability at Kingspan Group. The group says it employs 15,500 people in more than 70 countries. In addition to insulation technologies, Kingspan also offers “complete system solutions for high-performance buildings.” By this, the Irish company mean such things as water storage and rainwater collection systems, daylighting solutions, natural ventilation and smoke management solutions, as well as raised floors and data-based air handling systems.

For EVBox, meanwhile, the order is by no means the first commitment in the Anglo-Saxon region. In March this year, the Dutch charging infrastructure manufacturer announced that 500 of its charging points would be installed at Q-Park parking lots in the UK. The 500 charging points are said to be both the BusinessLine model and the Iqon charging point.

The Dutch group also announced just a few months ago that it plans to go public on the New York Stock Exchange through a merger with investment firm TPG Pace Beneficial Finance. The expected funds will be used to expand its global business, with a focus on Europe and North America, as well as for broadening its technology portfolio. In February, the Dutch company announced it had entered into a sales and service partnership with TSG Group of France. The service provider will offer EVBox charging solutions, including installation and on-site services, in 30 European countries. The cooperation already exists in the Netherlands, France, Denmark and Croatia.
