A rapid development of new energy in France
Currently, electric vehicle sales are continuing to rise up in France and the EU. According to statistics, in June 2023, the number of registered electric vehicles in France was almost twice that of diesel vehicles, and pure electric vehicles accounted for 17.4% of total car sales.
In 2021, France launched the "France 2030" investment plan, one of which is to produce 2 million electric vehicles per year before 2030. In 2022, the French government further clarified that it will invest 3.6 billion euros in this goal to promote the development of the entire industry.
According to statistics from the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, in June 2023, European pure electric vehicle sales exceeded diesel vehicles for the first time, with a market share of 15.1%.
At the same time, the French charger market will develop rapidly after 2020 and has huge growth potential.
The number of charging points in France is only 30,000 in 2021, and has reached 83,000 by 2022, an increase of nearly 180% from 2021 to 2022. In the first half of 2023, France accelerated the installation of supporting facilities for electric vehicles, and the number of chargers in public places across the country exceeded the 100,000 mark in May.
In addition, the DC chargers and AC chargers in French public chargers is 1:13, which is lower than the European average. Fast chargers have great growth potential.
According to the French government plan, the number of public chargers will reach 424,000 by 2025 and 965,000 by 2030, with a growth rate of 36% from 2022 to 2030.
